Four weeks before you fly: the travel checklist
Vaccines that need time, the ones you can skip, and what to pack for the pharmacy you will not find.

Four weeks is the point at which most vaccines can still be given in time. Here is what to do and in what order.
Four weeks out
Book a travel consultation. Bring your vaccine record if you have one. Hepatitis A, typhoid and yellow fever need time to take effect.
Two weeks out
Second doses where needed. Start malaria tablets if you are going somewhere that needs them.
The week before
Collect your record card and any certificates. Pack sunscreen, rehydration salts, a small first aid kit and any regular medication in your hand luggage.
