Bloods at eight, results by the evening

I wanted a proper health check before turning forty and did not want to take a day off for it. The eight o'clock slot meant I was at my desk by nine.

Ruth took the bloods in one go, and by the evening the results were in the portal with a short note from Dr Halden saying what was fine, what to keep an eye on, and one thing to change. Cholesterol slightly up, a follow-up booked for three months.

The follow-up showed it had come down. That is the first time a health check has actually changed what I do.
